Ordinary Passport (Dark Blue) is issued to ordinary citizens for ordinary travel, such as for vacation, study and business trips (36 or 60 pages). It is a "Type P" passport, where P stands for Personal. Official Passport (White cover) is issued to individuals representing the Indian government on official business.
There are four types of special issuance passports: All service, official, diplomatic, and most categories of no-fee regular passports are issued by the Special Issuance Agency (SIA) in Washington, D.C.
A regular passport book has a blue cover and is issued with the standard 28 pages or non-standard 52 pages. This type of passport has a validity of 10 years when issued to an applicant age 16 or older and 5 years when issued to a minor age 15 or younger.
Here is a list of all the eligible individuals, Blue Passport - General public. White Passport - Government officials. Diplomatic Passport - Indian diplomats and senior government officials. Orange Passport - Individuals who have not studied beyond class 10.

What does a black passport mean? Black is the rarest colour when it comes to passports. Some African countries, including Botswana, Zambia, Burundi, Gabon, Angola, Chad, Congo, Malawi all issue a black passport. Citizens of New Zealand also have a black passport – because it's the country's national colour.
China issues a red diplomatic passport to the government official traveling abroad. In this case, it is believed that red represents the communist government. But, China's public passport for the general population has a black cover.
Official passports are valid for official travel abroad only. This is in effect while the traveler is in an official travel status. For any official travel, which includes personal travel, the traveler must possess both a valid official and personal passport.
You must submit your most recent passport with your application. Please note: Your U.S. passport book and/or card must meet all of the requirements listed at the top of this page. Your old passport book and/or card will be returned to you, but generally it will come in a separate mailing from your new passport.
The colors of passports do not give any meaning to their strength. For example, both the US passport colors and Syria passport colors have a blue color. However, the Syrian passport is currently recognized as one of the weakest passports. There are many different factors to consider when choosing passport colors.
If you are a citizen of more than one country at a time, you will need a passport for both countries. Dual citizenship is legal in the United States, but it's not legal in every country. So, you would have to check with your other country to make sure that you would need two passports.
A passport is not required. Citizens of Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda must present a valid passport from their country to travel to the U.S. by air. When traveling by land or sea, they must provide the necessary travel documents outlined by the Department of Homeland Security.
Difference Between a Passport and a Visa
A passport is issued by your birth country or current country of residence. A visa is issued by an Embassy/Consulate representing a foreign country. A passport is required in most cases when you enter a foreign country.
2022 Henley Passport Index
An Afghan passport has once again been labelled by the index as the least powerful passport in the world, with its nationals only able to visit 26 destinations visa-free.
Japan held its top rank for the fifth year running, with access to 193 destinations without a visa. Asia once again dominated the rankings of countries with the most powerful passports, according to a report from the Henley Passport Index.

The top 10 most powerful passports in 2022 are those issued by Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Germany, Spain, Italy, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria, and Denmark.
As per the law in India, it is not allowed to hold two citizenships at the same time. It is being allowed in some other countries like the United States, but to hold two passports are not allowed under Indian Law.
White passports are issued to individuals representing the Indian government in official business. The application process for an official passport is different from that of the regular blue passport. While passport holders also get some special powers in addition to the regular rules and regulations.
A diplomatic passport is issued to a diplomat or an official travelling overseas for government duties. In this, individuals receive “Type D” passports that come in a maroon cover. It is different from a normal passport with a dark blue cover and applicable for ordinary citizens (including VIP residents).
