The safest province in Canada is Quebec since it is home to four of the safest cities in Canada: Levis, Quebec City, Blainville, and Saguenay. What is this? Ontario is also an incredibly safe province since Aurora, La Salle, Wellington County, Burlington, and Barrie are all ranked among the ten safest cities in Canada.
Located in Renfrew County, along the Ottawa River, Deep River ranks 1st as the best place to live in Canada. The Deep River area provides stunning scenery and excellent boating on the broad river, as well as exciting hiking trails in the hills across the Ottawa River.
A federal report on crime rates across the country ranks Kelowna as worst in Canada when it comes to crime rate. Metro Kelowna is listed in the Statistics Canada Crime Severity Index as having a rate of 11,112 per 100,000 residents. It's the highest rate in the country, and the only rate reaching into five digits.
Province suffered 5.93 homicides per 100,000 people in 2021: Statistics Canada. Saskatchewan's homicide rate is once again the highest of all provinces, according to new Statistics Canada data.

The province or territory with the lowest crime rate in 2017 was Quebec with 3,359 incidents per 100,000 followed by Ontario with 3,804 incidents per 100,000. The province or territory with the highest crime rate for 2017 was Nunavut with 34,948 incidents per 100,000.
Theft of personal property was the crime most frequently reported (34%), followed by physical assault (22%), theft of household property (12%), sexual assault (10%), vandalism (9%), break and enter (7%), theft of motor vehicle or parts (4%), and robbery (3%).
Immigration. As immigration continues to drive Canada's population growth, people should expect the crime rate to go down, said Cormier. "[In] just about every country, immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than the people who were there before them," he said.
The police-reported crime rate, which measures only the volume of crime, was nearly stable, rising 1% from 2020 to 2021 (Table 2). Canadian police services reported just over 2 million Criminal Code incidents (excluding traffic) in 2021, about 25,500 more than in 2020.

New Brunswick comes in with the highest RHI at 78.60, followed quite closely by Newfoundland with 78.40.

With just over 200,000 residents, Frisco is the safest city in America according to our metrics. Located approximately 30 miles north of Dallas, Frisco has the fifth-lowest violent crime rate across our study, with 86 violent crimes reported per 100,000 residents.
Safety wise, statistically Toronto is safer than Vancouver. As for the strike, you don't mention when you are planning this trip for, but hopefully it will be over soon.
Based on the selected violent crimes, the United States has a much higher violent crime rate than Canada. Taken together, the U.S. rates for homicide, aggravated assault and robbery are double the rates in Canada in 2000 (474 incidents per 100,000 versus 233) (Figure 1).
Canada has a crime rate that is about one-third that of its neighbor, the United States (1.6 incidents per 100,000 vs. 4.5 per 100,000 respectively).
Youth as offenders
Statistics Canada reports that of all age groups, youth aged 14 to 19 are at the greatest risk of committing both property crimes and violent offences.
Victimization. In 2008, there were 1,111 victims of violent crime reported to the police per 100,000 children and youth in Canada. The rates of violent victimization were highest among youth aged 15 to 17 25.
GSS data show that rates consistently declined with age, with victimization rates considerably lower among those 35 years of age or older when compared to those who were 15 to 24 years of age (176 incidents per 1,000 population) or 25 to 34 years of age (135 per 1,000) (Table 3).
Nova Scotia
